03/06    ROAD TRIP - Hopluia Brewery Tour

    When: 12:00 noon until 3:30pm
    Where: Spilker Ales
                300 w 4th st
                Cortland, NE 68331
    It begins at the McDonalds parking lot, Hwy 50th & I-80 (9505 South 144th Street)
    Meeting promptly at 10:45 and departing for the 66 minute trip to Cortland, South of Lincoln.

 

 

03/20  Brix Homebrew Event (Open Style) Competition

To enter you MUST:
1.) Contact Brent, the coordinae for the event. His e-mail is brent.udron@brixomaha.com
- Spaces are limited. If you don't respond soon you might get "We're full, try again next time."
2.) You'll want to bring an appropriate amount of beer. I'd say 2 ltrs or so, Brent can provide more details when you contact him.
3.) Bring your entry in bottles or in a keg. Brix won't provide tapping equipment, but does have ice.

03/27  Qualifying round for the 2010 Nebraska Shootout!

 

Railroader's here are the styles to brew:

4C Schwarzbier
9E Scotch Ale (In memory of Greg Noonan)
15A Weissbier
22B Other Smoked Beer
Open Class “Best Damn Beer ” (Tiebreaker beer, does not move to BOS)

 

We can only submit two per style for the club,

So let's brew and judge the best!

 

04/03  Railroader's First Annual BEER ROAST!

            Time to Brew and Be Roasted!

 

Live feedback in a Roast setting.  Your beer will be judged live

with feedback from your peers and your Roast Master. 

Only one style will be accepted for the roast,

04/24  2010 Nebraska Shootout!

Rules:

Each club’s job is to have their members brew to the styles that have been set. Each club is

allowed to submit a maximum of 2 entries per style.  Overall scoring for the categories is based

on a point system.  Each 1st place beer receives 2 points.   Each 2nd place beer receives 1 point. 

The same scoring scheme is used in the Best of Show (BOS) round where the top four beers go

head to head.   Here's the twist, the winner of the BDB category does not progress to the BOS

round, but is used to decide who wins in case of a points tie.  The winning club is awarded a

traveling trophy and bragging rights for the next year

 

            Membership of the Railroader's Brew Club is free...
